Too Long; Didn't Read

AWS has amassed almost 50% market share of public cloud spending. It started out offering a small handful of services (S3, SQS, and EC2), but now has 170 discrete services. As an early-stage investor, I’m hard-pressed to name any tectonic shifts that have had as much impact on startup formation. The availability of open-source tooling and the ease of access to infrastructure on AWS and other IaaS providers, and infrastructure turning into software, means it’s programmable.
