PRO/CON List

Pro’s

1. No Logs Policy

2. SmartDNS

3. Router Support

4. Strong Encryption 2048 bit

Con’s

1. Small Network

2. No Browsers

StrongVPN’s biggest contributing factor is the fact that it has SmartDNS this allows you to route your DNS Request to the closest DNS Server to the Website you are visiting. This is very useful when trying to get around Geo-Blocking and in prevention of DNS Leaks. While most VPN Services offer DNS Leak Protection they don’t offer it with SmartDNS making it less secure and capable of being Geo-Blocked. As all good VPN Providers StrongVPN has a no logs policy while it isn’t as in depth as most others they do ensure that they don’t keep any logs. This makes it hard to see just how serious they are about your Anonymity on the Internet while others made it very obvious that they where going to protect your Internet Privacy that is not the feeling that I got while talking to StrongVPN. While they didn’t give me the best feeling about how they would handle my Privacy. They where very prompt in their responses making first contact in 22 Minutes which is the fastest ticket response time I have ever seen. Their customer service is ok, they didn’t do anything to WOW me. Unlike TORGuard StrongVPN Doesn’t offer an expandable Device Cap. However they do offer a rather large device cap of 5 simultaneous devices. While they do have quit a bit about them that is questionable they do offer a really great encryption and support with Routers. The Encryption that they offer is a very strong 2048 bit encryption. This makes it much harder for anyone to try and decrypt your Internet traffic. The reason seeing Router Support is such a good thing is because most VPN’s have a device cap and Routers allow you to cheat that cap a little bit. Since Routers only count as one connection they only use up one slot on your connected devices limit. Once your Router is hooked up to the VPN Network you can connect as many devices as you like to that router and all of their traffic will be encrypted and no matter how many devices you connect it will always only use one slot on your device limit. The only place the StrongVPN really only scores badly in is it’s Network and it’s browser extensions. A large Network gives you the security of always having a server to connect to in the country or city that you want to connect through. VPN Providers with smaller Networks one might not have a server where you want to connect through as well as you don’t have the reliability of a large Network smaller Networks if not maintained properly can slow down to the point that you don’t want to use them at all. The last thing that I have to say about StrongVPN is that they don’t offer a Browser Extension. A lot of VPN Providers offer browser extensions with their products because browser extensions allow for protecting your privacy in ways that an app can not. They often provide a bunch of additional features as well that the Desktop App doesn’t offer. Overall StrongVPN isn’t a very impressive VPN Provider, but they are very good and offer features that a lot of other VPN Providers don’t offer.
