Hi, my name is Dasha, I have been an iOS developer for three years. Although I adore creating applications, in my childhood I dreamed of something completely different. At first, I wanted to become a journalist, and then an accountant. Apparently, now children's dreams come true - I write articles and count the number of my readers with pleasure.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

In my article, Does Size Matter If You Have an iPhone 15? I shared tips on how developers can optimize the size of their applications and also shared exactly why it's worth doing. After all, today, taking into account the performance of devices, it seems that the value of optimizing stuff can fade into the background.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

Yes, my area of interest is mostly technical. As an iOS-developer, I mostly write about iOS/swift stuff 👩‍💻. However, I've been thinking about expanding the pool of potential topics, looking towards something common to all programming languages.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

I start by choosing a topic and cool titles for it. Then, for several days, I write down all sorts of ideas, questions that I want to highlight, and useful examples. When enough ideas have been gathered, and there is already a skeleton of a future story in my head, I sit down to write the text. I usually try to write an entire article in one day.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

Finding the time and power is of course the biggest challenge… I don't even know what else to add. Everything else seems solvable.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I would like to lead the development of a startup 💹. It sounds both difficult and interesting to take responsibility for choosing the architecture and the team, go all the way from the idea to the release, and directly influence the product.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

I play WildRift and call my teammates noobs, of course, 😅

Yes, I love skiing 🎿. Once, I spent the whole season from February to May in the mountains, there are wonderful snowy landscapes and frosty mornings. If you haven't tried this type of vacation yet, then be sure to write it down in the list.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

A discussion on the nature of bugs🐞. Is it all about the light theme of IDE?

What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?

I really like the community, it's great that I can share my stories with so many interested people. And it's also great that I can find a lot of stories by other authors that I find incredible! I also want to add that the editing environment is extremely convenient.

Thanks for taking the time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

Thank you! I am already on my way to the next story. Hope you will find it interesting!
