TLDRvia the TL;DR App

Well, maybe the title is a bit exaggerated and yet there is truth in it. And is that if we think a little and we investigate about it we can see there is an unprecedented change to come.

As a citizen of a developing country living in an environment of great uncertainty, I see governments come and go with their archaic policies and yet the technologies continue to advance at such great and rapid pace that it is difficult for people to adapt in time.

But what do artificial intelligence and digital money have to do with all this?

Artificial intelligence are becoming more complex and capable of carrying out tasks very fast and with great precision, it is not a scenario type hollywood with killer machines, rather the biggest risk lies in the labor field, and is that how can a worker in the transport industry for example compete with an autonomous vehicle that while not perfect if it is better than any human operator in most aspects?

Automation is the new revolution.

In the medium term we will see governments regulate the automation vacancies in companies and certainly will should have a minimum quota of human employees.

The impact of these technologies is and will be enormous, and it seems that no labor field will be exempt, we will see from medical robots to robot artists, practically any area in which you specialize surely there will be a type of robot that can do the work better than you. And no, it’s not funny.

As I said at the beginning I live in a developing country, Mexico to be precise and the biggest problems are insecurity and social inequality and these are caused by the lack of employment and thousands of low paid jobs, millions of people living in food poverty survive with less than two dollars a day.

I must say that I am an enthusiast of digital money and blockchain tech as bitcoin or ethereum, I also have developed a blockchain for my startup Kchin, I firmly believe that they will be a great advance in economic matters, help to end many problems of corruption and the control that the big banks have over the world economies. However, I am also aware of the risk involved for large sectors of the population.

Cash money will disappear eventually, here in Mexico as a result of the war on drugs, the government has adopted many measures to control cash flows, today it is not so easy (for ordinary people) to go and buy a house or a car with cash, including it is complicated to deposit large sums of money in banks with cash.

So it is not difficult to imagine a scenario where cash is a thing of the past.

But what will happen to those millions of people living in food poverty?

What will happen to our indigenous people who have been marginalized outside the cities?

Our government, like many others in the world are rarely successful in handling this kind of transformation, a great step that the Mexican government celebrated was the ban on animals to be used in circuses, but the legislation never contemplated giving shelter to those animals that were retired to the circuses, so many only died there or were abandoned.

So the question remains in the air. Are we really prepared for the implications of these revolutionary technologies?

Are we as citizens ready for all this?

Whatever the answer, the progress of technology does not stop, we are millions of developers in the world working hard on these new technologies.

Change is unstoppable and whether we like it or not, we must be ready.
