TLDRvia the TL;DR App

It all started with the sharing of the news by Limarc Ambalina of HackerNoon, who sometimes publishes my articles on this platform and I thank him very much. I read that it was a contest regarding the creation of web pages in an evolved way with Velo.
The news and the project seem to be interesting, especially the video of the rebranding of the name Velo, which was previously called Corvid, a family of birds similar to sparrows. Due to last year's pandemic, Wix has wisely chosen to change the name to Velo.
This caught my curiosity and I looked deeper into the platform. In this article, I will explain my experience with this platform. Since I have not tried to create a page / website for centuries, it was a good opportunity to see how the industry has evolved.
I connected to the Wix platform, a famous platform for creating websites and pages, and I went to the Velo section and here we can already see how this platform is going and the various functions it has, especially on the developer side.

Starting a Velo Project

At this point, I clicked the "Start a Project" button, as I am not a registered user, I registered normally, it provides 3 methods: the classic one by email, one with Facebook, and one with Google. I used my Google account to register so as not to waste time setting yet another password for a new website.
Once inside, there is a handy guide section that asks us some questions about the type of site and page we would like to create and with 3 simple questions the project can already direct us on how we want to develop everything, in my case I chose to create a CV portfolio.
Once the "cognitive" phase with the algorithm is concluded, we see that before starting we will practically have 2 choices, a totally automatic one in which ADI will make the site for us, or we can choose a template to arrange it according to our tastes.
Considering that this morning is early in Italy and there is a beautiful sunny day in Molfetta, then I decide to use ADI to create everything and see the final result if it is satisfactory or not, so at least I can make up for some more time.
I press the "Start Now" button, the whole site is geolocated in Italian and therefore there are no problems using it in Italian, and I started to built the type of site I wanted, getting help from suggestions and I choose "Curriculum for Your Business" and press on "Next".
In the next screen I can choose the functions that the website will have such as a chat, a shop, the Instagram feed, a video and music player and more, and I choose the blog and Instagram feed and click on "Next" .
Now I have to enter the full name for the business and then I use my name and press "Next". In the next screen, we can import our previous site and also our business on Google. I enter a decentralized site that is on the blockchain di Zilliqa (ZIL) and click on “Next”, so it seems that it is also possible to insert decentralized domains.
In the next screen, I enter some info about me, and the various social networks on which I am present, and I click on "Next". Interesting to note how the icon of the social network is automatically placed.
The next step is to choose the theme, and I choose the "Sand" one since I can't wait to go to the beach, and I press "Continue".
After we can create a color palette from our logo, but I skip this step, while instead there is the "Create Palette" button at the bottom.
Finally, we can choose the design of our homepage and there are several designs to choose from and I take the first of the list and then after we can add some linked pages, and all related to the type of theme we had selected at the beginning and therefore in my case they do refer to the curriculum such as experience, skills, projects and so on, and I choose those that might interest me by clicking on "Add Page" and then at the top right click "Mod Site".
Now it's time to modify and customize the site according to my tastes and to insert the various graphic and non-graphic contents and all the information that I find interesting. There are really a lot of options to choose from and I spend all morning creating a nice site.

The Results of my Hard Work

Finally, I am satisfied with the result and before lunch, in which I will prepare some gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella and the sauce, I publish the relative website that I have prepared thanks to Velo.
And this is how in just a couple of hours my very minimal site was published without a hitch, demonstrating how with a tool of this kind it is possible to create your own platform quickly and for free.
Surely, compared to the standard tools that we can find in this sector, it is more advanced and provides options that we find instead only in the paid versions of other platforms.
While in this case, we can enter what we want and without paying extra, and the packages it offers for a fee are affordable for everyone since it starts from just € 4.50 per month.
