Too Long; Didn't Read

IBM has halted all facial recognition development and disapproves of any technology that could lead to racial profiling. The ethics of face recognition technology have been in question for years. IBM’s CEO Arvind Krishna made a bold statement in a letter to congress sent on June 8th. Microsoft announced they are halting sales of facial recognition technology to American police departments. The decision seems to be causing a domino effect in the AI industry, with other companies and startups taking advantage of IBM's stance.
