Should internet users be required to verify themselves using a government-issued ID?

US lawmakers in the past have floated the idea of having internet users verify their ages with ID and/or a consent form from their parents to use a service, like social media. Is that something you would be in the favor of?

42% Hell no! That's a clear invasion of privacy and I would have none of it

20% Age-verification or parents' consent could be used for some services, but it shouldn't be a catch-all

24% Yes! This could be a great way to prevent trolls and possibly limit mental health and self-harm tied to the use of social media

12% The government can mandate such an option, but it won't work! People will always find workarounds
